Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Senior Human Resources (HR) Staff Associate -Recruitment. Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources, this position plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of the university's talent acquisition processes while serving as a strategic partner to campus leadership, HR Liaisons, and University Human Resources (UHR) .
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
Serves as a subject matter expert and primary resource on job postings, recruitment, hiring, and employment processes for RU–N HR Liaisons.
Provides strategic guidance and independent analysis on employment transactions, policy interpretation, and contractual compliance prior to UHR review and approval.
Coordinates and leads recruitment operations for the Newark campus, ensuring alignment with University policies, collective bargaining agreements, and federal/state employment regulations.
Partners with University Human Resources (UHR) to review, resolve, and streamline complex hiring actions and serve as the campus liaison for all recruitment-related matters.
Designs, develops, and delivers training for HR Liaisons and departmental staff on the Applicant Tracking System, recruitment best practices, and compliance standards.
Generates, analyzes, and interprets recruitment and workforce reports, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
Leads process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency, and candidate experience across recruitment operations.
Collaborates with RU–N IT and University systems teams to identify and resolve technical or process integration issues, ensuring continuous system optimization.
Supports the HR–Newark leadership team in the planning and implementation of special projects, events, and HR initiatives.
Oversees office operations, including calendar management, project tracking, and internal communications, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
Serves as a liaison to campus departments and employees, promoting HR excellence, collaboration, and service-oriented solutions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, and/or Communications or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, report writing, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Also requires two years of relevant experience.
