Position Summary

Responsible for driving all system activities within the ONE Garland technology ecosystem, powered by Workday and all related ancillary systems. Hybrid remote opportunity.

Essential Job Functions

Business Partner

  • Serve as the technology change leader, collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization through formal meetings, focus groups and discussions.
  • Identify, develop and implement job aids, tools, training and communications to improve end-user engagement.
  • Continuously identify, evaluate and provide actionable recommendations for process and system improvements.
  • Be able to easily navigate between being a functional leader and an individual contributor depending on the needs of the organization.
  • Be seen as a credible partner, able to effectively outline issues, gain buy-in and execute solutions as needed.

Human Resources

  • Functional knowledge of human resources core programs with the ability to mirror needed processes and outcomes from a technical perspective in partnership with HR SMEs.
  • General understanding of regulatory practices as it relates to reporting, compliance, employee management, payroll and/or other related areas.
  • Conduct operational and performance audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.

Technology Project Management

  • Experience with leading and implementation of HR Management or ERP Systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Ultipro, etc. (direct HRMS experience required)
  • Strong technical acumen, including understanding of database objects and administration.
  • Reporting and analytics experience including the ability to frame and present data-driven business process scenarios.
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

? Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, information technology, or related field
? 3-5 years professional work experience in HRIS or Information Technology administration with demonstrated performance leading process or system improvements.
? Demonstrated technology project management experience
? Ability to identify issues and provide solutions autonomously
? Strong attention to detail and ability to be timely and responsive to the needs of the department and organization


Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

Education/ Experience:     

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, information technology, or related field
  • 5 or more years professional work experience leading HRIS or Information Technology projects or system improvements.
  • Complex project management experience, effectively managing multiple projects on time and on target.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Keen attention to detail, deadline commitments and managing cyclical processes is critical. 

Licenses & Certifications

? Valid Class C Texas driver's license
