The Park School seeks a Director of Human Resources for immediate hire. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the strategic direction of the school, specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the Head of School. The Director of Human Resources will work with the support of and under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations. Due to the nature of work in this role, they will partner with both the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations and the Head of School on a regular basis. 

Founded in 1888, Park is a leading PreK - Grade 8 independent school located on a 34-acre campus in Brookline, Massachusetts. • Provides strategic leadership in all areas of the human resources function in the interest of ensuring The Park School relates to all of its employees in a manner consistent with all of its stated values including diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for recruiting, hiring and onboarding exceptional talent.
• Partners with School Administrators, Faculty Department Chairs, Department Managers, and outside legal counsel, as needed, to conduct investigations and resolve issues.
• Determine and maintain a strategy for employee engagement (Including programs such as stay and exit interviews) with attention to positive culture and organizational change
• Establish an open and welcoming presence with employees and be available to answer questions and provide assistance with problem-solving on any issues or concern
• Collaborates with the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations to manage budgeting, developing forecasting for payroll and benefits expense, and maintain competitive compensation and benefits program
• Oversees the administration of all school benefits programs, including employee leave plans, and continuously evaluate and recommend changes
• Serves on the School’s Audit & Risk Committee; Participates actively in the School’s risk management program and works proactively to mitigate risk in the human resources area
• Partners with School Administrators to plan and implement new employees orientation 
• Maintains the integrity of all human resources programs and ensure alignment with the School’s mission and values and the incorporation of human resources best practices
• Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the School’s peer network and the human resource information system (HRIS).
• Monitors and ensures the School’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR team
• Establishes and maintains a service delivery model to ensure the department of human resources provides the highest levels of customer service 

• Eight ot ten years of demonstrated successful HR leadership; recognized senior professional certification (SHRM-SCP or SPHR) preferred; 
• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
• HR generalist experience with an emphasis on employee relations and organization change preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of human resources best practices, employment law, and related regulatory compliance
• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all constituencies in a school environment
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Highest regard for confidentiality and high ethical standards 
• Ability to work within a team and collaborate with colleagues 
• Advanced understanding of ADP (the School’s current HRIS) preferred
• Intermediate to advanced office technology skills 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience working in a diverse community and strong interest in contributing to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment at work 
• Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and School rules 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under the pressure of deadlines
