POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator (Civil Service) provides information to faculty and instructional staff regarding process and procedures for recruitment of eligible candidates into civil service roles within the campus. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an understanding of College and CUNY policy and also for participating in special projects and initiatives, including hiring pools.
The Human Resources Coordinator (Civil Service) will perform the following duties:
? Participates in actively recruiting, and hiring individuals into classified/civil service positions within Bronx Community College. Efficient in tracking and monitoring the applicant from first contact through onboarding. Works closely with all HR Leadership and Staff, as well as vacancy stakeholders within the department, to apprise them of developments of open vacancies and candidate onboarding.
? Facilitates all personnel actions for civil service employees (uniform allowances, anniversary increases, new hire onboarding, and various other status and payroll changes)
? Provides information as needed on civil service/classified policy, practice and procedure.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s degree required. Concentration in Human Resources preferred.
Knowledge of NY State Civil Service/Classified policy and procedure preferred
Knowledge of CUNY Civil Service/Classified policy and procedure preferred
Proven experience leading and managing recruitment processes within a campus environment within education preferred
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated organizational ability and superior interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service within a multicultural community are preferred.
Knowledge of CUNYFirst, Microsoft Teams preferred

Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
For appointments expected to start on or before 8/31/2025:
Salary range is $68,245.00 - $70,541.00, Salary commensurate with education and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
