Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Shared Services, the Senior Shared Service Advisor is responsible for Tier II escalations from HR Shared Services Representatives I & II. Provides training and specialized expertise to the HR Shared Services Representatives I & II. Identifies and resolves issues with a strong emphasis on to associated patterns. Is a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: Benefits Administration, HR Operations, HR Shared Service Delivery, Academic HR or HRIS systems. Interacts cross functionally with Centers of Expertise (COEs) and Senior HR Business Partners (SHRBPs), Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) and various departments within the University to ensure handoffs, communication and interactions are customer focused, seamless and delivered with high quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Four (4) plus years of experience in Human Resources in Shared Services or HR in a mid to large organization.
Specialized knowledge in HR Operations, HR Service Delivery, Benefits, HRIS, and Compensation is preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications:
Highly Proficient with MS Office Products and technology tools.
Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems.
Experience running queries and reports.
Ability to perform specialized technical tasks to support academic operational tasks.
Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
Ability to diagnose a problem and lead correction efforts through effective communication and efficient execution.
Strong written and analytical skills.
Possess a strong sense of urgency as part of the daily work style.
Responsibilities:
Represent HR Shared Services as first escalation (Tier 2) point of contact for all HR Shared Services Representatives relating to employee issues/question. Identify and resolve escalations by analyzing patterns and trends. Perform root cause analyses; serve as a program expert and resource; may handle routine and escalated calls/emails.
Provide specialized expertise in one or more of several areas: Health and Welfare Benefits, Tuition Benefits, Retirement Plan Benefits, Leave of Absence, Employee Data, etc.
Understand, analyze, interpret, explain, and apply policies, rules, laws and regulations accurately and effectively. Provide high level Shared Services support to Senior Human Resources Business Partner in coordination of executive new hires, separations and oversee or complete transactions related to complex employment situations.
Audit data for compliance. Verify information entered in personnel database and employee personnel records. Review work of HR Shared Services Representatives to ensure accuracy, proper completion and output according to policies and practices.
Train and provide ongoing development to HR Shared Services Representatives I and II. Utilize metrics established by the Manager HR Shared Services to determine areas of development needed. Works with Manager, HR Quality Assurance to develop standard operating procedures, ensure alignment with those procedures, and adequately train staff on procedures including ongoing updates.
