Job Overview
Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 100,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. Hoxworth Blood Center: Saving Lives Close to Home. HBC is located within the College of Medicine and is the only Regional Blood Center owned and operated by a University in United States.
HBC is recruiting for Sr. Mgr. HR Business Partner to provide management and strategy on various human resources issues to all areas of Hoxworth Blood Center. The Sr. Mgr. HR Business Partner is expected to provide leadership, direction, and ultimately lead the execution of critical management/administration of day-to-day Human Resources functions, both internally across all divisions, as well as externally with community partners and dedicated donors.
The Sr. Mgr. HR Business Partner will partner with key clients and provide support and expertise to resolve matters. This person will serve as the primary HR contact for division leaders to support goals and strategic initiatives. Acting as member of the HR Management Leadership Team, the business partner actively supports discussions and transfers best practices from different functions within the organization and manages the HR-related internal and external communication.
Essential Functions
Act as an integral part of the leadership team by developing effective working relationships, influencing the management team in support of the business area and HR strategies.
Liaison and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence on best practices and issues pertaining to internal and external business units. Proactively supports the delivery of HR processes and best practices to the business units.
Provide HR support in areas of ethics, compliance, and individual Centers of Excellence. Provide confidential and strategic consultation to employees.
Act as the Performance Management driver and consults in relation to positive changes in managing people.
Provide transformational advice and support to the business units/colleges on change management initiatives to improve cost and efficiency.
Collaborate and consult with student workers and the International Office in relation to both orientation and onboarding.
Identify issues within organizational structures of the business unit and work with both business unit and central HR to propose changes.
May act as a Manager for assigned business area within Central Human Resources. May act as mentor to Jr. HR Business Partner incumbents. May initiate, participate in, and/or manage HR Projects cross-functionally.
Ability to understand the business needs of internal and external business units and have the capability to influence without direct authority.
Must maintain confidentiality with high level of integrity. Responsible for accurate and timely storage of HR-related documents in accordance with UC's Records Retention Schedule.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
