Description: Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes. 1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program. 2. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis. 3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance. 4. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation. 5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities. 6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations. 7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures. 8. May serve as property custodian for the department. 9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Description: This position works in the Dean’s Office at the C. T. Bauer College of Business. Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Further, successful candidates will effectively communicate with all levels of management and fellow employees and be able to manage multiple employer relationships. This position assists the College Business Administrator and the Director of Faculty Affairs for HR/Payroll related matters for the Bauer College of Business.
Position includes the following responsibilities: 1. Generate faculty professorships, endowments, summer research, chair & administrative stipends 2. Coordinate faculty promotion/tenure items 3. Coordinate faculty folders and new faculty orientation 4. Generate offer letters and hiring paperwork for new adjunct faculty 5. Facilitate the processing of H-1B and PERM petitions for foreign nationals 6. Generate faculty additional comp forms and process faculty overload ePARs 7. Coordinate with DBMs to ensure compliance on Human Resources issues 8. Coordinate with HR and Payroll to resolve issues with personnel records and payroll 9. Evaluate and maintain staff training processes for the college 10. Serves as employment representative for college (posting positions, interview processes, serve on interview committees as needed) 11. Oversee and reconcile all payable time and verification reports for Bauer college 12. Run and reconcile all college suspense reports 13. Logs staff assignments for DBM and Financial Analyst to reconcile BOB report 14. Audit and approve faculty, student and non-ben staff ePARs 15. Request ePRFs for faculty, staff and students reporting and funding changes 16. Review tuition waivers requests for CBA approval 17. Maintain log for faculty and staff leave accruals 18. Initiate, verify and finalize non-ben staff termination checklists
Preferences: • Familiarity working in higher education and particularly directly with faculty. • Experience in immigration processes for international hires. • Experience with PeopleSoft Finance and HR. |
