Baruch College seeks a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This position will be responsible for tracking and processing payroll actions related to contractual salary increases, level changes, promotions, longevity increments and differentials for the classified and managerial civil service employees.
In addition to the CUNY title overview, duties include but are not limited to the following:
??? Assists in the coordination of overall payroll process; reviews and interprets contractual agreements/provisions and Payroll Bulletins for implementation and update.
??? Utilizes systems and sets protocols to track and update employee data pertaining to salary step increases, level/title changes, longevity increases and service increments.
??? Ensures compliance and proper application of various civil service contractual rules and regulations; serves as a resource for staff and responds to their questions and/or concerns.
??? Responsible for CUNYfirst data entries for civil service and classified managerial staff; performs scheduled or ad-hoc data audits of CUNYfirst and PayServ records to ensure data integrity; timely reports and corrects data errors; generates reports as needed.
??? Advises employees and managers of Human Resources policies and guidelines; provides a high level of customer service in assisting members of the college community.
??? Serves as backup to the HR Payroll Manager.
??? Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant labor laws and regulations.
??? Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of employee information.
??? Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees regarding payroll inquiries.
??? Assist in resolving any issues or questions related to payroll management.
??? Conducts a detailed analysis and audit to implement Collective Bargaining Agreements timely and accurately.
??? Assist the HR Payroll Manager with special projects and audits related to payroll and time and leave.
??? May supervise support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
??? Knowledge of CUNY Civil Service White-Collar and Blue-Collar contracts.
??? Four years of Human Resources experience in higher education.
??? Working knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) such as PeopleSoft.
??? Solid knowledge of federal, state, and city laws and regulations impacting payroll operations.
??? Ability to prioritize tasks, be detail oriented, and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
??? Proficiency in PeopleSoft, electronic timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
??? Ability to manage multiple projects with demanding deadlines.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Develops and administers processes and policies regarding Human Resources.
Advises employees and managers on Human Resources policies and guidelines; provides a high level of customer service in assisting members of the College community
Supervises and administers one or more human resources programs such as recruiting, pay administration, employee orientation, employee benefits, data entry and recordkeeping, and performance appraisal/reappointment practices
Maintains an in-depth understanding of CUNY rules and regulations, relevant laws and guidelines, collective bargaining agreements, and College policies, and applies these to his/her areas of responsibility
Investigates regarding sensitive employee issues or complaints
Helps create innovative communications such as manuals, web pages, or employee meetings and provides these to the College community
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$64,649 - $75,465; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
