The Department of Epidemiology is seeking an HR Coordinator to provide administrative support to the human resources team. You will coordinate temporary and graduate student appointments as well as payroll processes. Reporting to the Epidemiology HR Generalist, you will assist in monitoring compliance and will participate in process documentation and maintain department records.
Provide administrative oversight for hiring of temporary employees within the department, including: preparing job descriptions, posting positions, onboarding/offboarding employees, and appointment/salary changes. Process volunteer appointments within the department.
Coordinate the time reporting processes for both temporary and regular employees. Follow up for time approvals, answer payroll questions, and run payroll queries.
Work with student services, financial staff, and HR Generalist to process appointment and funding information for graduate students.
Assist in monitoring compliance with I-9 guidance, mandatory sexual harassment training, Children on Campus procedures, and the effort certification process. Escalating issues to HR Generalist and/or Department Administrator as appropriate.
Collaborate in maintaining department HR files, records, listservs, account sponsorship, and relevant tracking systems. Collaborate in documenting HR policies and procedures to disseminate to Epidemiology community.
Collect and summarize HR data as requested, including regular review of hourly rate and job titles for temporary appointments.
Process taxable reimbursements, including tuition support and travel expenses, and provide guidance on University reimbursement processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of progressively responsible administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience running and analyzing business reports to support decision making.
Expert proficiency with Word, Excel, and Google suite products.
Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service to diverse populations.
Experience dealing with sensitive information.
