The HR Generalist 3 serves as a member of a Staff Team within a shared services model of the integrated HR organization. The position partners closely with a set of client departments to facilitate their business goals and proactively address and resolve routine and complex problems by applying policy knowledge and experience. The HR Generalist is in charge of partnering with departments, schools, business units and specialty centers to deliver efficient and effective HR services and ensure compliance with UCSF HR policy and procedures. As a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of UC systemwide and campus staff HR practices, policies and procedures, the HR Generalist 3 resolves the full range of moderate to complex staff HR issues (employment, compensation, salary administration, benefits and leaves, performance management, employee and labor relations) affecting a broad range of staff titles. The HR Generalist 3 works on problems that are diverse and complex in scope, where inquiry of situations requires a review of a variety of factors to recommend and implement solutions.
The HR Generalist 3 will be held accountable to high customer service standards, service level agreements and related metrics. Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
