The Finance/HR ERP Analyst (Analyst) is a mid-level technical position that provides technical support for critical enterprise functionality such as budgeting, procurement, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, student billing, accounting, recruitment and hiring, classification and compensation, and benefits. The Analyst provides advanced technical support for the Banner ERP Finance and Human Resources modules, and related applications. This position performs business process analysis and design, serves as a team member in the deployment of new applications, the implementation of upgrades, or the development of new software, and serves an important role in application integration and project management. This position works with and coordinates activities across functional offices including Budget and Planning, Procurement, Accounting, Treasurer's Office, Talent Solutions, Classification and Compensation, Benefits, and others.
The Analyst reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications, works under the direction of senior technical staff, and is a mid-level technical member of the department. This position works across functional and technical offices to ensure that Banner and related applications function at a high level of effectiveness.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
Information Technology Services (ITS) strengthens and supports the university's mission of teaching, research, and scholarly application of knowledge by providing the information technology infrastructure, software, hardware, and support to achieve the university's strategic goals. ITS is comprised of nine departments which work with the university community to provide the information technology support and services required to realize operational excellence, integrate advanced technology, and create efficient and effective technology solutions.
Requirements:
A master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with one years' experience of progressive related experience, or a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with two years' experience of progressive related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
Proficiency in technical troubleshooting and ability to write, tune and validate advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries and reports.
Proficiency in the software development lifecycle from technical design, unit testing to user testing, to production migration.
Proficiency in gathering requirements from diverse sources, conducting data analysis, coding, testing, integrating, and maintaining Oracle and other business applications.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to provide instructions and training through explanations and demonstrations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong customer service skills, driven by a genuine desire to assist others.
Proactive and optimistic mindset coupled with a diligent and responsible work ethic.
Preferred:
Proficiency in Banner Finance and Human Resources functionalities and modules, with a specialized focus on Banner 9 Admin Pages and Self-Service.
Knowledge of higher education administrative processes, including accounting, procurement, payroll, and human resources functions.
Expertise in optimizing applications for peak performance, including process streamlining and automation.
Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, and integration requirements, with practical experience in data exchange.
Experience in managing projects from inception to completion, including developing project plans, coordinating timelines, and ensuring that projects meet objectives and timelines.
Familiarity with change control procedures and compliance, and ensuring software stability and data integrity.
Experience in the development of applications, including use of PHP, JavaScript toolkits, GIT, and other development tools.
Experience developing reports with WebFOCUS version 8.2 or higher.
