SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Supervisor, assists Human Resources staff by performing a variety of support functions which may include assisting in recruiting, training, compensation and benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following: other duties may be assigned. Supports recruitment functions in a variety of areas, preliminary screening of applications, coordinating interviews, creating interview files and forms, and other duties related to the hiring process. Supports staff in creating offer letters and coordinates pre-offer/post offer requirements, such as background, education and reference checks, pre-employment physicals and drug tests. Researches, creates, conducts and organizes annual job fairs. Prepares materials, handouts, and attends job fairs as needed. Posts open positions on job boards and ad placement sites and communicates with all posting agencies. Incumbent will create, review and track job advertisements for monthly updates and annual budget process. Assists with closing recruiting files and tracking file destruction dates in accordance with state and federal regulations. Provides employees with training resources and recommendations for personal development and education reimbursement processes. Provides an effective system to track and retrieve training events for employees. Coordinates, schedules and facilitates new employee on-boarding and orientation for benefits, safety, compensation and administrative procedures. Coordinates the temporary labor process for summer help, internships and other temporary labor. Assists with tracking, maintaining and documenting authorized headcount to ensure the company does not exceed. Maintains the active organization chart using software to continue compliance with the authorized headcount. Organizes and assists in preparing data for affirmative action plan and other reporting requirements. Supports and assists with conducting monthly processes for employee benefit billing. Assists with various personnel functions throughout HR department.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors required.
Education and Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources is required. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, employees and outside professionals.
Math Skills: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions or numerical information including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. Experience using PeopleSoft HR or a human resource information system is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: This job requires a current driver's license. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: May be asked to work additional hours to meet deadlines. May be required to travel on short notice; travel required less than 10% of the time.
