General Purpose/Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will report to CTY's Director of Human Resources and serve as a key partner and primary point of contact for CTY staff and applicants. The person in this role will interpret and apply HR and area policies and procedures while also maintaining alignment of programs and services with the strategic and operational needs of the organization. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including onboarding/offboarding, processing payroll, administering benefits, conditions of employment, FMLA/ADA, employee status modifications, etc.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Human Resources Leadership
Responsible for a wide range of human resources support to the CTY's staff and leadership.
Serving as a backup to HR Director whenever needed, supporting the full lifecycle of the employee.
Acting as a knowledgeable resource to CTY leaders, managers, and employees in the communication, interpretation, and application of HR programs, policies, and practices.
Lead the team responsible for onboarding new employees, supporting transactions, and managing HR-related information.
Supporting HR strategic projects and planning under the direction of CTY leadership.
Participating in processes intended to improve the overall effectiveness of departments, and leading key components of engagement activities.
Partnering and collaborating with colleagues within CTY's Talent Acquisition group and with central university HR (including compensation, central Talent Acquisition, HR Shared Services, payroll, etc.)
Collecting and analyzing relevant data and using metrics to evaluate performance and contributions to the achievement of both UA's and the university's goals and objectives.
HR Business Activities & Transactions
The HR Generalist will lead the team responsible for ongoing transactions and operational activities that support CTY's approximately 120 full-time and 1,750 casual instructional and summer program staff.
Supporting enterprise HR information systems (currently SAP) and processes.
