Job Description: Baylor University is seeking a service-oriented leader to join its Human Resources Department as the Manager of HR Consulting. The Manger of HR Consulting provides direct supervision to a team of highly skilled HR Consultants (HR Business Partners) and serves as a strategic business partner for a portfolio of high-profile client groups. This position will play a critical role in positioning Human Resources as a strategic partner across the organization.
A Bachelor's Degree and five years of progressive experience in the HR field. A Master's Degree and previous supervisory experience preferred. Strong preference will also be given to candidates who currently have a PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You'll Do
Oversee the day-to-day management of a service delivery team consisting of HR Consultants ('HRC'). Provide support and guidance when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
Develop HR strategies and make recommendations for change while upholding Baylor's mission.
Exercises judgment within defined policies and procedures to determine appropriate personnel actions.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, and manages performance of HR Consultants.
Serves as a resource to a portfolio of clients on all employment matters (employee relations, performance management, talent management, etc.) through collaboration with specialized HR partners to include recruiting, compensation, and HR service support. Uses an approach that is flexible and practical when addressing issues, with an understanding that the primary role is to reduce risk and exposure on matters related to employment practices.
Serves as the first point of contact on client matters that require HRC escalation.
