Job Summary:
The HR Director serves as the Title IX Deputy Coordinator, Assistant Compliance Officer, and on other key leadership committees and is a key advisor to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, President/Dean and others on the senior leadership team. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overall leadership, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resource function including include culture management, leadership development, organizational development, recruitment and retention, affirmative action, employee benefits, compensation, training, employee and labor relations, and legal compliance with federal and state employment laws.
The incumbent will contribute at a strategic level and deliver hands-on operational expertise and directs all aspects of the Law School's Human Resources practices, policies, objectives, and initiatives; upholding the mission and vision as well as provide consultation and guidance on the development and interpretation of human resources policies and guidelines; developing human resource initiatives in alignment with the School's strategic plan and departmental work plan.
The Director of HR is responsible for the HR budget, employee relations, updating and maintaining the employee handbook, employee onboarding and offboarding processes, benefits administration, employee review processes, union negotiations, and overall compliance.
This position will supervise the Assistant HR Director, Human Resources Business Partner and HR Generalist.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of five years (5) years of directly related professional human resources experience, demonstrating expertise and skill in management and consultation including several of the following areas: grievance administration, performance management, conducting employment investigations, developing/conducting trainings, compliance and policy development/revision. Experience must include at least one (to three) years of human resources experience in a managerial or supervisory role; experience in higher education preferred; and
A minimum of a bachelor's degree, or advanced degree in Human Resources or a related degree program, such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, and Organizational Behavior preferred.
