The Management Department in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an emphasis on Human Resource Management.
Responsibilities:
Teaching comprises approximately 50% of duties, including:
A 3/3 teaching load equally in asynchronous online and synchronous in-person formats at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Developing and maintaining rigorous content for courses related to Human Resource Management.
Creating and maintaining video lectures over a 3-year cycle for all online courses.
Maintaining interpersonal contact with students outside of the classroom via a variety of methods, including online discussion boards, internet-based video conferencing, email, and both in-person and online office-hours.
Research and Creative Activities comprise approximately 40% of duties. These include designing and completing original research presented at national conferences and published in double-blind peer-reviewed academic journals similar to those appearing in the Australian Business Dean’s Council list.
Service will comprise approximately 10% of duties, including introductory participation in activities supporting the department, college, university, and profession.
After successful completion of the tenure process, responsibilities for this position will transition towards service roles such as curriculum coordinator, student club advisor, and committee chair.
Required Qualifications:
Expertise in topics related to human resource management.
Possesses a topic-related PhD or equivalent by August 1st Example of appropriate emphases include Management, Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, etc.
Previous meaningful experience as the primary instructor for university-level classes as demonstrated by copies of recent syllabi and student evaluations that include comments.
A desire to excel at both online and in-person teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Ability to learn and adapt as standards for course delivery evolve.
Ability to create and manage positive relationships with a diverse student body.
Currently meets research-related AACSB standards for Scholarly Academics.
Capable of maintaining research-related AACSB standards for Scholarly Academics as demonstrated by 3 research examples. These examples can include published papers, conference papers, rough drafts, and/or detailed descriptions of works in progress that have yet to be written up formally.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the professional standards of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Non-academic management or human resource work experience.
Willingness to teach topics related to Training and Development.
