Under general supervision, provides intermediate to senior level human resources support to the employees of Tarleton State University and the Department of Employee Services. In office position located in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Monday to Friday from 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University
Conducts New Employee Orientation and assists with employment workshops as necessary. Completes and processes all paperwork for newly hired employees.
Assists employees with decisions and paperwork regarding Teacher Retirement System (TRS), Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), and Tax-Deferred Annuities (TDA) and Deferred Compensation and insurance plans.Â Reviews necessary forms and supporting documentation for accuracy and completion, ensuring timely processing and forwarding to appropriate vendors.
Codes employee information into HRIS system and prepares personnel files for new employees.
Conducts exit interviews and retirements, ensuring all forms are completed and processed timely. Processes retiree changes and assists with decisions regarding benefits.
Reviews and approves personnel, benefit and retirement HRIS actions and forms for compliance with regulations, processes and procedures.Â Coordinates information/changes with Payroll.
Reviews, approves and updates employee data in the HRIS due to changes in employment, eligibility and/or employee submitted changes.Â Ensures adherence with benefits strategy and tools; applicable regulation and policies
Assists employees and retirees with insurance, retirement and benefits questions and claims resolutions.Â
Assists with verifying summer billing status for all less than 12 month employees and updates HRIS coding when appropriate, coordinating with others on ES team and campus departments.
Assists with or may serve as lead for Annual Enrollment, TSU Retirement Fairs or other campus related benefit programs and initiatives.
Continuously improves and helps implement new processes in addition to managing existing policies and procedures. Identifies benefits processing and/or data issues and provides guidance to management on recommended solutions.Â
Provides exemplary and efficient customer service to ensure positive patron experiences and to ensure serving the employees, students and retirees of Tarleton State University is first priority. This is done by building relationships with the employees and retirees we serve, assisting employees and retirees with their customer service needs, educating employees and retirees about resources and provisions of employment with the Texas A&M University System, and owning customer service inquires through to resolution.

Provides guidance to departments related to hiring processes and benefits eligibility.
Â Ensures all personnel files are complete after each assigned department position is filled.
Verifies prior state service, SGIP and Benefit Replacement Pay and enters on HRIS accordingly.
May assists with requests for prior employment verification.
Â Stays abreast of changes related to employment procedures, benefits, retirement, leave and payroll processes.
Communicates with Payroll regarding payroll related changes to employees and retirees. Attends System leave and benefit meetings in person and/or remotely.
Assists customers with Tier 1 and Tier 2 level HR-related questions.
Travels to off-site meetings when necessary. Maintains reference sources to ensure up-to-date information regarding benefits; Responsible for mailouts from System office to employees and retirees. Verifies information and makes necessary corrections related to various weekly and monthly HRIS reports. Perform other duties as assigned. This is a security-sensitive position. The individual in this position is required to handle Protected Health Information in accordance with A&M System policy and is further required to complete HIPAA training as a condition of employment, within a reasonable timeframe after the individual's employment, and on an as-needed basis.
Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years of work experience in human resources or related field
Proficiency with database, spreadsheet and word processing programs. Analytical and report writing skills. Oral, written and presentation communication skills. Â

The target base annual salary is $48,120 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
