Roxbury Community College's Office of Human Resources is searching for a talented Part-Time Human Resources Staff Intern to work with our team. This role will offer an opportunity to work across various HR functions and will provide the intern with an understanding of how the functions work together to partner with the College. It's crucial that the intern has an interest in developing a career in the HR field. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as first point of contact in office of Human Resources & Payroll
Work under the supervision of the Leaves & Benefits Coordinator and HR &Talent Generalist to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Office.
Assists the HR Assistant regarding administrative tasks, special projects, events, and other related tasks
Services in the role of HR Assistant in their absence
Provide support to the HR team in the administration of the recruitment process, leave and benefits paperwork collection, data tracking, and meeting summary notes
Assist in the administration of the department's internal systems with new/updated employee data including contract details, employment forms, and digitization & cataloging of documents.
Create and update physical employee records.
Maintain confidentiality of correspondence and communication with employees and candidates
Assist with various HR Team projects as needed
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, Liberal Arts and/ or Currently pursuing a undergraduate degree in Business, Healthcare, Psychology, Human Resources or related field.
Ability to apply the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the College and the HR department.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employee records and information
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation and veterans including those with different levels of academic preparation, varying physical and learning abilities
Attention to detail
Ability to relate to and effectively articulate the mission and values of Roxbury Community College
Ability to use standard office tools (MS Office) and virtual meeting software packages (Microsoft, Teams, Zoom)
Reliable and able to set consistent work hours
Enjoys working with a team, but can work independently as well
Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology and/,or other related field
Bilingual skills a plus
Experience in the digitization & cataloging of documents.
Schedule: 18.5 Hours/ per week (Weekday schedule, Hours will be determined at the time of hire)
Salary Range: $18/per hour
Location: Roxbury campus
Continuation of position is contingent on funding per fiscal year
Start Date: Summer 2023
