RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS & SERV (BA-RPAS-IUBLA)

Auxiliary Human Resources (HR) provides strategic subject matter leadership and consulting to multiple auxiliary departments on the Bloomington Campus including Campus Bus, Document Services, Early Childhood Education Services, Fleet Services, Parking Operations, Residential Programs and Services and others. As strategic business partners, we endeavor to facilitate the integration of systems designed to increase workplace productivity and to develop improved processes for attracting, developing, retaining and utilizing people with the required skills and aptitude to meet current and future business needs. This staff member plays a central role in attracting, selecting, advancing and retaining top talent for IU Dining within Residential Programs and Services, while part of a shared services HR team.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Administers the processes for recruiting, interviewing, and selecting employees to fill vacancies within IU Dining.
• Reviews position requirements and qualifications, and using the assigned consultant model, assists in identifying the best candidate for a given position.
• Ensures university policies and procedures are followed in the posting, interview, and selection process.
• Serves as a resource to applicants inquiring about employment with IU Dining.
• Consults with and advises managers and supervisors in various areas of recruitment and hiring, proactively reviewing and implementing new procedures and strategies to increase efficiency and respond to regulatory changes in Dining Services.
• Assists with conflict resolution situations.
• Ensures compliance with all related campus and department policies, procedures, and practices.
• Assists with onboarding coordination for new hires.

General Responsibilities

• Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains HR related work, which may include but not limited to: recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absences.
• Researches and analyzes HR related topics to help assist in resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
• Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents for HR related activities.
• Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping information current for candidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of HR issues
• Provides administrative and related support to other HR staff.
• Supports and maintains HR programs and events; maintains up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and time frames.
• Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents.

EDUCATION

Required

• High school diploma or GED

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• 3 years of HR related experience plus advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite products

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Preferred

• Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
