Responsible for hiring of faculty, staff, temporary, research grant/time-limited personnel and affiliates for the CON. Make classification and salary recommendations based on previous and comparable positions. Coordinate personnel planning duties in the following areas: securing appropriate approvals from University officials; create/update position descriptions and job postings, monitoring unclassified and classified advertisements on UofSC jobs website, compose offer letters for all new hires. Sufficiently initiates new hire functions with discretion and independent judgement: communicating with all new hires and processing required paperwork; assisting with on boarding duties; initiating 1-9 Advantage E-Verify employment authorization through OHL. Reviews/approves hiring proposals for temporary faculty initiated by the Clinical Compliance Coordinator. Ensure compliance with USC, State, and Federal policies and procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
Responsible for initiating and processing CON student hires and providing key changes regarding student hiring policy and procedures to ensure compliance withuniversity standards and CON processes. Responsible for salary recommendations, generating offer letters, I-9 Advantage authorizations, and on boarding process. Train student employees on how to report working hours in the TU ABS system.
Responsible for initiating and submitting dual employment hires for CON faculty and staff. Collaborate with senior leadership to determine if additional assignments qualify for dual employment according to HR 1.78. Work with the Budget Department to ensure employees are in compliance with salary guidelines by not exceeding 30% within one fiscal year. Generate hiring paperwork and obtain required signatures from employee, supervisor, and the dean. Process dual employment in PeopleSoft HCM.
Coordinate and initiate summer teaching and research hires for FTE faculty members. Make recommendations to the department chair on salary based on CON summer pay policy and ensure faculty's pay is in compliance with summer salary policy mandated by the Provost's Office. Initiate quick hires, compose summer hire letters, and initiate summer hire forms in PeopleSoft HCM. Responsible for summer hire changes including salary increases/decreases, early terminations, and account changes.
Serving as a time and labor/absence (TUABS} approver for the college, review and approve timesheets as requested by supervisors. Review and approve leave of absences and absence cancellations. Research and fix exceptions in the time and leave absence system working directly with the Controller's Office and/or Benefits Department. Coordinate telecommuting and flexible schedule requests and approvals.
Works closely with the CON Assessment and Accreditation Manager providing official transcripts for faculty credentials in Compliance Assis as requested by the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Analytics.
Develops, compiles, prepares, and maintains specialized records and reports as requested. Maintains official personnel files for CON faculty, staff, and students.
Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources, to support ongoing employee functions involving faculty, staff, students, and temporary hires: provide compliant based responses to ongoing employee HR inquires; process paperwork related to bonus requests, pay for performance, and FMLA; processes separation actions; and working as needed on special projects. Ensure compliance with UofSC, State, and Federal policies and procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
Responsible for onboarding, personnel updates, and offboarding of all faculty, staff, students, and affiliates to include utilizing the CON Monday.com platform and updating the CON Central personnel database. Provides communication regarding USC and CON onboarding and offboarding requirements to include first day of employment, CON orientation, updates and separations.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of related experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
