Description: The Office of Human Resources at Pratt Institute is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Part-time Human Resources Records Assistant who will provide support to the Human Resources operation with primary emphasis on the organization, maintenance, and digitization of Human Resources and Benefits records. The successful candidate in this position will be responsible for the implementation of day-to-day records retention processes in compliance with legal requirements and related Pratt policies with the ultimate goal of digitizing all HR Department records. We seek an individual who can maintain confidentiality and professionalism on all matters.

On a typical day you will:
Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy personnel, benefits and I-9 files with the ultimate goal of digitizing all HR Department records
Prepare personnel files for review by employees, supervisors and other authorized personnel as needed
Serve as a backup receptionist, responding to general phone and in-person inquiries and referring more complicated issues to appropriate HR staff members, greeting visitors to the HR Office, distributing mail, and assisting new/rehire staff and faculty with completion of HR paperwork and use of self-service portals
Perform data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet tasks and develop simple reports from databases and systems when needed
Participate with other HR staff in planning, developing and implementing personnel policies, systems, workflows, and procedures
This position is part-time offering up to 28 hours per week. Position requires in-person presence 2-3 days per week. The hourly range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00 per hour with prorated time off.
Qualifications: Education: A.A. or equivalent degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience: At least two years relevant experience required including experience/knowledge of scanning and records retention. Knowledge of basic HR principles and/or experience working in higher education preferred. Familiarity with records retention legal requirements is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office suite of applications; knowledge of scanning software, and facility with the web.
Other: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with a diverse employee population are essential. Must demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, understanding of confidentiality, and ability to work independently using discretion and independent judgment.
