Under the direction of the Academic HR Processing Supervisor, the HR Processing Lead has the primary responsibility to organize, analyze, validate, and enter all human resources and payroll data transactions into the unified payroll database. The HR Processing Lead critically evaluates the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts and researches inconsistencies in information. Proactively identifies and resolves HR processing issues. Independently advises employees on standard HR practices and procedures and resolves problems when clear procedures exist. The HR Processing Lead is responsible for processing complex faculty payroll transactions, including the reconciliation and calculation of retroactive payroll adjustments.

The incumbent regularly interacts with HR generalists and managers throughout the HR organization as well as client departments and other business units to address and resolve problems and ensures accurate and timely data entry to meet various systems deadlines. This position will support HR generalists with advanced processes and procedures to support client departments' business needs.

The HR Processing Lead will be held accountable to high customer service standards, service level agreements and related metrics. They will perform all duties with tact, discretion and according to confidentiality requirements.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
