This recruitment will be used to fill multiple positions within the HRS Records and HRS Disability Services units.
Summary of Duties - Records:
Under general supervision, the HR Assistant performs a variety of duties in support of Human Resource Services - Records. This position applies established human resource guidelines, rules, policies and procedures for faculty, classified, AP and hourly personnel processes. Responsible for reviewing personnel actions, conducting leave audits, completing employment verifications, and processing Form I-9. Assist departments and employees with personnel processing and time and leave. Review and maintain accurate records and correspondence and maintain electronic and paper files. Gather and organize documentation to produce reports. Maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times.
Summary of Duties - Leave Specialist ( HRS Disability Services):
Under general supervision, perform a variety of clerical and technical duties in support of Human Resource Services Disability Services. This position provides customer service to clients regarding Disability Services programs including: Family and other Medical Leaves, Workers' Compensation, Long Term Disability, Reasonable Accommodation, and Shared Leave. The position explains rules, policies and procedures to university employees, gathers, organizes and processes documentation and forms, and prepares leave correspondence. The position reviews, develops and maintains accurate electronic and paper files, produces reports, coordinates meetings, and assists in employee training sessions. Maintains and ensures a confidential environment at all times.
Required Qualifications:
Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience providing customer service both in person and/or over the phone.
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs.
Excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the human resource functions of employee records administration, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, employee/labor relations or disability services.
Range 36, $2,957 to $3,915 A-M | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
