•PAYROLL: Process biweekly payroll by entering work hours and/or leave hours for salaried and hourly employees by using timeclock system reports, PeopleSoft software program, MS Access, and other computer programs/systems by the established deadlines.
•EMPLOYMENT/ONBOARDING PROCESS: Obtain appropriate approvals to hire hourly unclassified temp and student employees, prepare employment paperwork, schedule appointments, and meet with new hires to review and sign employment paperwork, and transmit paperwork to HCS on-campus using ImageNow system.
•HEALTH INSURANCE & FSA OPEN ENROLLMENT: Assist with departmental local agency benefits open enrollment.
•KSA POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL: Keep Employee Policy and Procedure manual up-to-date.
•OTHER: After payroll and hiring duties are learned, additional accounting-related and other duties.

Primary duty is to ensure accurate collection and recording/processing of biweekly payroll using timeclock system reports and approved leave requests into PeopleSoft system, running multiple reports to verify accuracy of time and leave by established deadline each pay period. This position will also obtain appropriate hire approvals for hourly temp and student hires, and prepare and process employment paperwork. Other duties include assisting with full-time employee hiring process, assisting with department local agency benefits open enrollment meetings and processing benefits changes, updating and maintaining KSA policies and procedures manual, and other duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in accounting or related field. NOTE: This position may use additional experience in lieu of a degree as determined relevant by hiring manager.
- Two years of accounting or payroll experience
- Very strong knowledge and experience using MS Excel/Word/Access.
- Experience providing excellent, friendly customer service in a busy work setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience entering time and leave in a payroll program, running reports and verifying employee time and leave
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to multi-task successfully and always handle interruptions in a friendly, helpful, and positive manner
