This position reports to the Senior HR Consultant within Classification and Compensation. The Classification and Compensation section provides a comprehensive program of services, serving an advisory role to University management, department heads, and supervisors through a fair and equitable application of state and federal policies and procedures. The Classification and Compensation section is responsible for ensuring campus-wide equity through the proper classification of all SHRA, CSS and Non-Faculty EHRA positions, with full consideration of salary administration issues.
Consistent with the service mission of the University, we provide consultation on organization and position design, compensation analysis and salary administration, consultation of departmental pay philosophies and strategies. This position is one of seven consultants responsible for maintaining the classification and compensation career banding and broad-banding systems for all SHRA and CSS positions. This entails conducting position classification studies for both new and existing positions, designation of FLSA and wage and hours policies, preparing the analytical documentation and presenting decisions to management. Compensation and salary administration functions include comprehensive analysis of market rates, conducting and completing compensation surveys, and utilization of fair practices. This position requires the ability to work independently, using judgment and discretion in formulating decisions.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
