Human Resources Information Systems Specialist - University Human Resources - Georgetown University
The Human Resources Information Systems Specialist is responsible for a significant number of transactions within the Georgetown Management System (GMS). They manage nearly all HCM transactions for all Staff/AAP employees at Georgetown University, and they often delineate and enforce HR and University Policy for HR associates throughout the university.
They serve as a subject matter expert in HR Policy and GMS processes, serving as a primary point of contact for assistance for HR associates and managers across the University; and cultivating close working relationships that allow them to suggest policy edits/changes and system modifications for smoother, more efficient GMS functionality and usability.
The HRIS Specialist analyzes data and uses strong problem solving skills and reasoning to effect data driven changes, while maintaining the discretion needed to handle highly confidential information.
Work Interactions
The HRIS Specialist works closely with HR colleagues and individual departments throughout the University to provide analytical and technical human resources expertise. The incumbent will work closely with the HCM trainer to identify training needs/gaps and assist in training as needed. Reports to the HRIS Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 3 years of relevant experience
Superior understanding of HR policies and practices and employment laws
HRIS experience - preference for Workday experience
Strong computer skills, with intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel to create, extract, manipulate and analyze data and reports
High level of accountability
Ability to identify and proactively question data inconsistencies
Superior judgment and strong intellectual and analytical abilities
Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills
High level of professionalism, and a commitment to customer service and confidentiality
