As a member of the hospital leadership team, the Director - Human Resources is responsible for the management of daily operations of Human Resources and Employee Health in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position is responsible for executing Human Resource activities at the facility for all functional areas, (e.g., recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, etc.). Serves as a leader and professional resource for facility management on all HR related activities.
Reinforces the hospital’s vision and business strategy in day-to-day interactions with staff.
Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination in the operation of department.
Acts as a liaison between the staff and administration as appropriate. Coaches and provides feedback to staff to ensure consistency of staff supervision.
Participates and chairs committees with the goal of improving processes, increasing efficiencies, and ensuring compliance.
Emphasizes the importance of employee engagement to build a stable, productive workforce.
Encourages continuous learning through mentoring, education, and knowledge sharing.
Rounds with staff and responds to requests and suggestions from staff in a timely manner.
Collaborates with Senior Manager to develop and recommend annual department capital and operating budgets within specified timeframes.
Consults with department managers to develop appropriate staffing within expectations.
Represents the department during the Joint Commission and regulatory compliance reviews.
Participates in monitoring compliance with CMS Core Measures as appropriate to area.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources; Master’s Preferred.
Minimum of five years progressive experience in a hospital Human Resources’ department in a leadership capacity.
SHRM-SCP and SPHR certification preferred.
Must have prior experience managing high volume full cycle recruitment process.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. Knowledge of labor relations desired.
Must have general knowledge of compensation practices and knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
Able to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
Must be responsive in managing issues that require timely management/oversight.
High degree of competence with HRIS, such as Lawson and ICIMs. Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
