Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 12 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. The Director, Human Resources for Independence Physician Management serves as a member of the IPM leadership team, working as a strategic partner with IPM Business Leaders to drive HR strategy supporting the growth and direction of the business. The position reports to the Associate Director, Human Resources for the Acute Division.
Focuses on improving the employee experience, employee engagement, employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, organizational development, compensation, recognition, retention, and integration of acquisitions.
Implements corporate model policies, employee guidebook, and establishes programs to ensure full adoption throughout IPM.
Works to standardize policies, processes, and job descriptions across IPM.
Conducts periodic needs assessment to align IPM HR priorities with IPM business needs. Consults with local marker HR Managers and Practice Leaders to identify training needs and/or competency gaps for staff.
Determines metrics and provides regular reporting to management on recruitment and retention initiatives, as well as turnover data.
Uses strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and good judgement to influence management and actions throughout IPM markets.
Develops and executes integration plans for newly acquired practices.
Regularly works in HR systems to manage processes, review data and provide analysis.
Supervises division IPM HR team and market HR Managers.
Conducts site visits to ensure HR operations are meeting the needs of the markets as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college/university is required. Master's degree highly preferred. Professional certification (or equivalent) is highly desired.
Minimum 8 years of professional HR experience, preferably in a physician practice or acute healthcare setting. 5+ years in a leadership position.
Must have strong HR generalist background and be able to facilitate field HR operational efficiency, competency development and upskilling for Market HR Managers.
HR leadership experience with multi-site and multi-state locations.
Must have prior experience managing high volume full cycle recruitment process.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. Knowledge of labor relations and union avoidance tactics.
Must have general knowledge of compensation practices and knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
Able to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
Must be responsive in managing issues that require timely management/oversight.
High degree of competence with HRIS, such as Lawson and ICIMs. Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
