The Rockefeller University seeks a Human Resources Coordinator (Salary Range: $60K-$70K) to join Human Resources. Reporting to the Manager of Immigration, the HR Coordinator interfaces with the institution's academic and administrative populations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to partnering with all members of an international population, including maintaining constant communication with new hires. Supporting the Manager of Immigration Affairs and assisting foreign nationals' immigration procedures and special filings. Ensuring timely and accurate completion of all paperwork, including immigration applications; compiling required legal documentation, advising visa holders; serving as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the J-1 visa program and Designated School Official for the F-1 visa program, reviewing immigration procedures and legal status of foreign employees. Managing the activities associated with the employment lifecycle for academic and staff positions; serving as the initial contact for visa paperwork, onboarding, and new hire orientation; ensuring seamless processing of related HR transactions; entering and maintaining HR data in HRIS database. Updating and coordinating the departmental website to ensure accurate and complete information. Assisting with talent acquisition and scheduling interviews throughout the recruitment process, as needed. Proactively and accurately enforcing standards for timely paperwork processing and guidelines; additional responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred. At least three years of related experience is required. Previous experience in a higher education setting is a plus. The ideal candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and work independently. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary. Must be comfortable in a multicultural, multilingual international community. Must be passionate about building connections and networking; have familiarity or interest in Human Resources diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills are required. The ability to work efficiently and effectively while maintaining attention to detail is required. Collaborate with humility and emotional maturity within a team dynamic and act with a sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership of responsibilities.
