Position Information The school's Academic Personnel (AP) and Human Resources (HR) unit provides the school (faculty, lecturers, staff, and students) in services related to academic affairs, personnel, payroll, and human resources. The unit is responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with University, Campus, Federal/State, and other outside agency requirements relating to AP and HR matters. The AP/HR unit administers centrally all recruitments, initial complement negotiations, and appointments for the school's employees (senate/ladder rank faculty, non-senate faculty, academic and non-academic students: TA, Readers and student workers and staff), full time and part-time. Under the general supervisor of the Director of Academic Personnel and Human Resources, the incumbent serves as the main contact and transactor for requests related to onboarding, offboarding, visas, promotions, equity, leaves, labor, and employee relations for the school's employees (academic and non-academic) through the service link system to our shared service center POSSC. This position is required to maintain currency on all human resources-related issues to assist the department, program offices, and the Dean's office. The incumbent will provide guidelines to the Director of AP/HR regarding payroll and HR policies. The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the unit in various transactions related to academic personnel processes (updates data, communication, data collection, statistics, etc).

Education Education Requirements
Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required 2 years of higher education experience Preferred
Minimum Requirements Knowledge of organization, college and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding of variances to stated policies. Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR. Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to Chairs/unit management. Demonstrated organization, problem solving and communication skills. Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems.
