The eLearning Specialist will serve as support to content requesters University wide; Learning and Development and HR with eLearning content review, governance as Advisory Board Chair, and providing excellent customer service.
Coordinate policies, procedures, and operations for eLearning content, associated with Learn@Work (the Universityâ™s primary learning management system for employees), to ensure quality, clarity, and efficiency in the design and delivery of excellent content, and to ensure alignment of L@W goals and activities with the larger mission of Washington University in research, teaching, and learning. Working very closely with the Senior Manager, Learning and Organizational Development to provide oversight to Learn@Work as business partner.
Job Description
This position is a hybrid work environment - i.e. remote and on-campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assist L@W administrators with content admins with functional support for authoring tools and vended content to University wide customers.
Establish and document content pedagogical standards University-wide.
Provide University requesters with initial consultation on design, implementation, and evaluation of their instructional content and training materials other training materials, including lesson plans, learning and performance objectives, pedagogy, adult learning, instructional methodology, technology delivery, and assessment. All to ensure quality, clarity - and where appropriate - consistency, in curriculum and instructional design.
Coordinate with IT-PPMO, planning, delivery, and budgeting for training support provided to L@W administrators, course authors, and instructors.
Develop and manage related communications, policies, and procedures concerning instructional design.
Provide content admins with functional support for authoring tools and vended content.
Serve as chair to relevant LMS Advisory Board committees responsible for setting agenda and actively participating. Also, actively participating in the content and product committees.
Build and test L&D learning assets in LMS (courses, eLearning, materials, videos, curricula, etc.): catalog and session management coordination, and content development and production.
Develop protocols and other communication procedures with campus-wide units, departments, and learning administrators and instructors to ensure continuous review of eLearning training materials offered through L@W, and to provide avenues for user feedback and suggestions concerning system improvement.
Provide content admins with functional support for authoring tools and vended content.
Define selection and implementation process for authoring tools - L&D and HRVendor enhancement and release management testing.
Provide administrative support of the L&D: add L&D courses to the LMS course catalog; ensure the L&D course information and other types of information are always current; collaborate with HR business partners to ensure employees are added to learning paths as necessary based on hiring, promotions, etc.; monitor external leadership, professional, and career development training resources to add relevant information to the LMS.
Keep track of L&D learning program data, aggregate success metrics and provide regular reports to learning manager.
Generate and assign custom reports as needed; run, schedule, and review Learning and Development reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Three, or more, years of data analysis and metrics experience.
Experience with Cornerstone/SABA/Workday on LMS software.
Three, or more, years developing and delivering training materials for technical applications including but not limited to: training videos, PowerPoint, quick reference cards, and instructor led classes.
Experience with virtual training via platforms such as Zoom or Webex.
Experience in training and learning design and development.
Experience with adult education principles.
Experience with instructional design working knowledge.
Experience with project management.
Experience with e-learning concepts and tools.
Ability to analyze information, document conclusions, and develop recommendations.
Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to problem solve and work across department boundaries independently.
Ability to build productive working relationships across departments.
Ability to communicate successfully to multiple levels of technical understanding.
Ability to adapt and handle multiple projects with different priority levels.
Strong familiarity with recognized e-learning standards.
Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree.
Three to five years of a Learning Management System (LMS), coordination, administration and/or training.Â

Salary Range
$63,900.00 - $109,100.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
