Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Recruiting
- Manages all recruiting functions for both faculty, staff and students, ensuring equitable, consistent practices, and adherence to Olin approved processes.
Staff
- Works with managers to ensure job descriptions are up to date and accurate prior to posting. Works in conjunction with the Compensation and Payroll Manager to update as needed.
- Ensures that competencies are included with all jobs at the time of posting.
- Posts all open positions.
- Creates positions as needed.
- Reviews candidates, manage all candidate screenings and assessments, ensuring that minimum qualifications are met and the best candidates are put forward.
- Attends interviews as Olinâ™s HR representative and provide input and insight into candidate selection, providing recommendations to hiring managers.
- Develops and implements strategies for employee management around recruiting and onboarding.
- Researches and identifies outlets for advertising open positions to ensure a diverse and well qualified pool of candidates.
- Sources candidates for positions through research on LinkedIn and other websites to build a pipeline of candidates for Olin positions.
- Ensures compliance with University and Olin policies.
Faculty
- Manages the Olin faculty hiring process to include job postings, internally and externally.
- Works with Vice Dean of faculty and faculty hiring committee chairs to guide the faculty hiring process.
- Manages reporting from Interfolio, used to ensure equitable processes and diversity of candidate pool.
- Oversees recruiting visits and ensure process is followed up to offer stage.
Onboarding/Offboarding
- Ensures that all paperwork and job records are completed on a timely basis.
- Liaison to central HR to ensure timely completion of I-9s for new hires.
- Meets with all new hires to provide them with a copy of their job description, job competencies and other needed information with regard to parking, ids, benefits, time keeping etc.
- Manages the visa application process for foreign national faculty.
- Manages, in conjunction with the compensation & payroll manager, offboarding all employees â“ ensure that information is entered in workday accurately and timely to ensure vacation payouts and correct payroll entries.
Payroll
- Assists the Human Resources Manager â“ Compensation & Payroll as needed to ensure timely and accurate payroll completion.
- Ensures that all job records are accurate and complete in time for payroll.
- Acts as a back up in the absence of the Compensation & Payroll manager.
Supervision
- Supervises and coordinates human resources and payroll staff. Effectively manages performance and development of staff to maximize efficiency through training and timely coaching. Sets a tone of leadership that is people oriented, collaborative in nature and builds a management culture based on teamwork, open communication, innovation, mentoring and accountability.
- Meets frequently with team members to ensure high standards of service delivery.
Records Management
- Maintains all relevant paperwork and records for all faculty and staff searches.
Working Conditions
Ability to move to on and off-campus locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorâ™s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field plus three years of related and progressive experience. Prior University experience.
- SHRM SCP or CP certification.
Required Qualifications
College degree and three years of recruitment experience or equivalent education and experience to equal seven years.

Salary Range
$50,500.00 - $86,200.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
