SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE, Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), to act as the first point of contact and provide wide-ranging, responsive, and transparent support for the human resources (HR) function of a busy department headquarters. Will prepare appointment transactions for employees and visiting students; coordinate and prepare visa paperwork/documentation; conduct new hire orientation and onboarding; track and generate reports/spreadsheets in various HR areas; support compensation reviews, annual salary reviews, outside professional activities reporting, employee relations, and other processes; coordinate the rewards and recognition program; support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts; schedule interviews, conduct phone screens, and disposition applicants; support faculty promotion and search cases; stay abreast of the latest trends/best practices; contribute to internal training programs; and participate on committees, contribute to special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years' administrative or HR experience, preferably in an academic environment; strong Microsoft Office skills; meticulous attention to detail; initiative; excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing (including spelling, punctuation, and grammar) skills; and tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information and in sensitive situations. Must be able to proactively anticipate issues/complications and the needs of supervisors and stakeholders; juggle a variety of tasks concurrently and meet deadlines without compromising quality; manage a high volume of work; distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes; resolve problems in a thorough and timely manner; work flexibly as situations demand; and function independently with minimal supervision.
