Business Partner coordinates Human Resource activities for assigned divisions, acting as a liaison between Human Resources and the assigned staff divisions/departments. The position serves as a partner to clients, collaborating with HR staff and client services staff, to ensure coordinating HR efforts for clients by providing guidance, consulting, process direction, and case updates to supervisors and area leadership in employment policies, processes, and regulations. The partner proactively works on creating and maintaining Gonzaga University as a welcoming and inclusive environment for all through outreach, consulting, and policy advisement that is founded in the mission of Gonzaga University. This position is eligible to be an HR Partner II if selected employee has experience to upgrade the position.
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field
Two (or more) year's increasingly responsible experience in human resources and/or equal opportunity
Current knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations
One or more years demonstrated ability conducting thorough, impartial investigations into employee relations and/or harassment/discrimination issues
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to learn and interpret policy.
Demonstrated ability to respond to customer services requests, either internal or external.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate intricate and/or sensitive job-related processes to internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Able to work non-traditional hours on a periodic, as-needed basis
