Human Resources and Benefits Manager is part of the corporate team and supports The Pinnacle School, The Spire School, Links Academy, private school placement, college consulting, and collaborative educational opportunities at Silver Hill.
Responsibilities
Support all generalist activities for GEG’s schools, including full-cycle recruitment and onboarding and offboarding processes for all school-based positions. Manage employee relations issues and benefits and support employees in all employment actions and issues.
Manage all recruitment activities from requisition completion to onboarding, including compensation discussions based on the approved budget
Coordinate new hire processes, including new employee orientation and onboarding which includes a one-on-one meeting of introduction to GEG and the benefits
Do all offer letters for FT, PT, and ESY employees
Create/maintain all onboarding and offboarding and candidate screening forms
Maintain documentation created by leadership in the employee’s HR Files concerning disciplinary and performance issues
Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations that are voluntary. Share feedback with management to improve retention
Ensure that all school-based processes (background checks, fingerprinting, certification updates) are executed promptly and are in full compliance, rectified the backlog of fingerprinting not being completed on time
Assist with internal audits to ensure compliance
Perform New Hire follow-up reviews with employees to identify new employee challenges
Assist Senior Director of HR and school leadership in identifying areas of employee dissatisfaction and recommend actions/activities to increase employee satisfaction.
Recommend employee relations practices to the Senior Director of HR to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote high employee morale and motivation. Participate in meetings with school leaders and Senior Director of HR, as requested, concerning employee morale, motivation, and other issues.
Participate in staff development as assigned by the Senior Director of HR
Maintain documentation regarding the performance improvement process and assist the Senior Director of HR with implementing performance improvement plans as requested. Build and maintain candidate databases through thorough screening of candidates for GEG
Handle employee inquiries and resolve issues regarding payroll, benefits, and PTO policy, serving as a liaison with payroll and our benefits plan Brokers
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience is required. 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles. 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations.
