SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of HR activities including payroll processing, HRIS management, recruitment, benefits administration, training and development. employee relations, HR reporting, policy & procedure development, record keeping, and special projects. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Independent judgement is required to prioritize and organize diversified workload.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers various human resources policies and procedures for employees; assists in the implementation of policies and procedures and provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Responds to verification of employment, status, and reference checks
- Conduct recruitment efforts and new-employee orientations
- Completes onboarding and new hire processing
- Leads employee benefit enrollment and life-cycle activities including notifications to employees and managers, and data entry of benefits
- Maintains HRIS information including data entry, file maintenance, and training support for users.
- Work with leaders on hearing, investigating, and resolving employee relations issues, counseling employees and supervisors.
- Support and participate in processing weekly payroll as directed which may include providing data, following up on information, and performing corrections of data.
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information
- Perform general office functions such as typing, filing, faxing, scanning, sorting, etc., as pertains to area of responsibility; may include greeting visitors, answering phones and directing to appropriate staff.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Escalate to HR Leadership as needed/required.
- Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Perform miscellaneous HR and office projects or duties as necessary assigned by supervisor
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written required
- A minimum of 2 years of HR experience, 4 years preferred
- Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification highly desired
- Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work is considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing most duties, works in a climate-controlled environment. May occasionally perform tasks that are off-site and require use of personal vehicle or other forms of travel. Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment while in the facilities.
