HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) GENERALIST/BUSINESS PARTNER, Dean for Student Life (DSL)-Administration, to collaborate with DSL HR and the Staff Engagement Advisory Board (SEABoard) to help make DSL the best place to work. Will work across all HR endeavors, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and development, employee relations, labor relations, compensation, and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion; support DSL's managers and staff in creating an engaging, productive, inclusive, and positive workplace for all employees; advise and assist managers and staff on HR matters; act as a liaison with central MIT HR; ensure compliance with applicable federal/state/local laws; and partner with DSL HR on strategic planning and implementation within the DSL.
REQUIRED: B.S./B.A.; at least four years' directly related HR experience, preferably in a higher educational setting; experience drafting and delivering performance feedback and information related to escalating performance improvement and disciplinary actions; discretion and sound judgment with confidential information; ability to quickly and satisfactorily resolve a variety of sensitive job-related issues; excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and organizational skills; knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws; and proficiency with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Cognos, QuickBase, BrioQuery, and SAP or their equivalents. Must be able to set and manage multiple assignments and changing and conflicting priorities; multitask; perform hands-on work in a fast-paced, team-based environment; understand formal and informal organizational structures and relationships and build consensus; effectively communicate across functions; and build relationships with a diverse group of people, both internally and externally. Salary range: $75,000-88,000, commensurate with experience
The position offers a flexible and hybrid work schedule within DSL's business needs. Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background check.
