This position is located in the School of Veterinary Medicine's Human Resources Office and reports to the HR Director. This position provides HR support to the Department of Pathobiological Science, the Department of Comparative Biosciences, Animal Resource Center, and administration. Responsibilities include assisting units with all aspects of recruitment and selection, promotions, rate and title changes, FMLA requests, performance management training and tracking, workplace investigations, discipline and other personnel matters.
Responsibilities:
Designs, implements and monitors more than one human resources (HR) functional program such as payroll, recruitment, and employee relations and benefits. May supervise staff. Assists in strategy development to ensure the unit is able to process and support workforce needs and ensure regulatory compliance.
15% Identifies, designs, implements, and monitors Human Resources and staff training programs consistent with strategic objectives and initiatives
25% Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
20% Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes
15% Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies
25% Serves as subject matter expert to support unit managers' alignment of business needs and human resources strategy

Preferred Bachelor's Degree
Qualifications:
A minimum of two years professional Human Resources experience required. Experience in recruitment and selection process required. Experience in FMLA and workforce relations preferred. Experience working at an institution of higher education or government agency preferred.
