This position may be based in Peoria, IL or in Davenport, IA.
The Employee Relations/HR Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the Bank’s Human Resources policies and the proactive process for the development of team members. The position will be receptive to feedback from all Bank staff and act as a liaison between leadership and the staff at large.
Implement and continuously improve the Onboarding Program, including recruitment, retention, training, employee performance management and development.
Plan and execute Bank-wide trainings as appropriate. Work with managers to develop and implement position- and/or branch-specific training as requested.
Partner with leadership in developing managers’ skills and confidence with respect to HR responsibilities.
Coordinate with various departments to develop and/or maintain clear, concise, and documented procedures for business and HR processes.
Partner with HR Administrator to ensure appropriate HR record keeping and maintain employee files and records. Act as backup for processing payroll and benefit administration.
Ensure all team members have access to Human Resources as a valued member of the team.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills to work most effectively with staff and leadership at all levels in all departments.
Outstanding communication skills and ability to interact with staff and managers of diverse backgrounds.
Strong capacity to negotiate with and influence others.
Ability to work in a fluid and dynamic environment, including travel among banking centers as needed.
Experience with maximizing use of HRIS/payroll systems: Paychex experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a Human Resource or business-related field and at least three years of experience in Human Resources/employee relations or a combination of education and related work experience.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
