SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) REPRESENTATIVE, School of Science (SoS), to perform a variety of tasks in support of human resources (HR) and academic activities for the SoS Dean's Office (DO) HR team and provide administrative and calendaring support for the assistant dean (AD) for HR and administration and the HR team. Responsibilities include reviewing and submitting job posting requisitions and advertising; scheduling phone screens and interviews; partnering with the senior HR business partner to conduct transaction review, documentation, and approval; reviewing HR letters for accuracy and distributing to SoS HR administrators; maintaining reward and recognition programs; assisting with maintaining SoS lactation spaces; assisting with SoS's participation in the annual MIT Career Fair; preparing and assisting new hires with completing forms; handling new hire orientation and onboarding to the DO; assisting with, arranging for, and overseeing temporary employees; assisting with the faculty promotions and tenure process; tracking postdoc review forms; managing visiting student process; and assisting with tracking academic appointments and compensation and with managing gifts and awards files and databases. Other responsibilities include calendar management for AD and DO's HR team; providing logistical support for meetings/events; supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts; serving as parking coordinator; file/records maintenance; assisting with office suite management; and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years' administrative or HR experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to juggle a variety of tasks concurrently, meet deadlines without compromising quality, and function independently with minimal supervision; tact, diplomacy, discretion, and good judgment with confidential/sensitive information; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDFs.
