HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE), to provide responsive, transparent, and knowledgeable execution of moderately complex human resources (HR) activities in a large interdisciplinary laboratory. Will coordinate HR activities and advise on HR-related policies, procedures, and best practices; assist RLE faculty and managers with recruitment, low-level employee relations, onboarding, HR policy interpretation and guidance, and personnel record-keeping. Additional responsibilities include producing reports, coordinating events, salary equity reviews, documenting procedures, participating in special projects, processing both academic and non-academic HR transactions; handling low-to-mid-level employee relations issues; and performing other duties as assigned. This position functions in a fast-paced, high-volume, and dynamically complex environment that involves consideration of conflict of interest, entrepreneurial endeavors, and various levels of split appointments for postdoctoral scholars. This will result in analyzing moderately complex requests, often with changing priorities, to ensure appointments are aligned with proper compensation and immigration status in the current academic research landscape.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; at least two years of HR experience; working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, the internet, e-mail/calendaring, and database and reporting software; strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; discretion, tact, and good judgment with confidential issues; and a flexible approach to the workload. Must be able to prioritize, juggle, and complete assignments/tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities; see issues from a variety of vantage points; build relationships internally and externally; and work independently and as part of a team.
