Summary:
Under minimal direction, acts as department lead in performing duties necessary to the delivery of best practice HR strategies and programs within their area of expertise. Plans, communicates, implements, and controls activities and/or programs to ensure maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness and adherence to corporate HR philosophy, policies and procedures. For communications discipline, assists with planning and execution of communication strategies.
As part of the Dataworks team, The HR Advisor will serve as a subject matter expert, thought partner and advisor on culture and employee engagement strategy with keen focus on DEI. They will provide guidance and support to executives, managers, and employees. In addition you will:
- Develop, integrate, and advise on culture and employee engagement strategies and initiatives with the goal of fostering positive and sustainable change in the organizational culture, working closely with the Culture and DEI Steering Committees, executive leadership and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Be responsible for formulating and executing customized organizational, department- and affinity-specific culture, engagement and diversity strategies that result in driving action and change in the organization.
- Create and implement a comprehensive and sustainable employee engagement strategy; Take a true hands-on approach to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
- Build trusting relationships with Business Leaders, HR colleagues and employees to develop a deep understanding of the organization's workforce, culture, diversity, equity. inclusion and retention opportunities.
- Provide strategic leadership on policies, best practices and change management in culture, engagement and DEI to accelerate a climate of belonging, equity and inclusiveness
- Ensure culture, engagement and DEI practices and messages are embedded in overall People and Culture strategies including manager education, benefits, HRIS, talent planning, and compensation
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to achieve values based hiring and diversity goals in recruitment.
- Develop and facilitate trainings, dialogues and focus groups, where necessary to support culture, engagement, inclusion, diversity and equity initiatives.
- Partner with external vendors to host ongoing culture, engagement and DEI forums. Collaborate with others to determine forum focus areas and identify external guest speakers.
- Utilizing metrics, benchmarking data, and best practices research, they will lead the employee engagement business planning process, formulating recommendations and action plans for lines of business in partnership with the Workforce Analytics, HR business partners and senior leadership teams.
- Quickly learn Dataworks business and priorities, and ensure efforts are aligned and support business outcomes.
- Stay regularly updated on current events that may impact our workforce locally and nationally. Bring in new ideas on how to engage employees through dialogue and conversations about culture, DEI and employee engagement topics.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and FedEx Services policies, procedures, and processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Considered a Plus:- Professional experience leading organizations through Culture, Employee Engagement, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion initiatives.
- Strong project management skills; ability to lead projects at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, and then drive execution and achievement of the right results
- Successful development and implementation of professional development learning experiences (workshops, webinars, peer-to-peer, speaker events); this experience must include facilitating workshops to leadership as well as team member audiences
- Success in creating and driving effective and positive employee relations, retention and reward programs
- Demonstrated ability to have effective conversations with a variety of audiences while navigating difficult topics
- Exceptional stakeholder relationship building, consulting, and influencing capability demonstrated across diverse situations and contexts
- Ability to develop engaging presentations and strategies through the use of data and visuals.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, and with all peer and management levels
- Change management (CCMP, CMS or CPCM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications a plus
- Experience in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space with expert level awareness of macro and micro DEI topics such as systems of oppression, social power dynamics, racial consciousness and ability to dismantle systemic inequities. Diversity Certification a plus.
- Thorough understanding of employment law and regulations
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree/equivalent relative to function. Five (5) years directly related experience. Strong organization, planning, human relations, analytical, and communication skills.
