We are seeking an HR Portfolio Manager (HRPM) to provide complex analytical and administrative project and program support to the Leadership Cabinet of the Human Resources Group (HRG). The Cabinet consists of our four functional areas: Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Strategy, Client Services, and Employee and Labor Relations, as well as Strategic Projects & Initiatives. The Cabinet is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing an HR total rewards strategy that aims to attract, engage, develop, reward, and retain Stanford Medicine's key talent. In this inaugural role, the HRPM will support the Cabinet in the development and administration of programs, policies, and projects to ensure our charters, timelines, and deliverables are met. The HRPM will independently and simultaneously manage and administer multiple projects and expertly navigate between a broad portfolio of Cabinet-sponsored initiatives.
The HRPM position will have flexibility to be based anywhere in the U.S., for candidates who are able to travel to the Stanford School of Medicine campus 15% of the time as in-office work resumes in 2022.
JOB DUTIES:
- Independently administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the HRG Leadership Cabinet by identifying and executing tasks and objectives. Make recommendations that impact policies and programs to achieve the goals of the Cabinet.
- Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise, and implement procedures.
- Represent the HRG Cabinet as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit, or school. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
- Develop communications and training. Plan/promote events and/or conferences.
- Manage the budget for Cabinet programs such as HR Residency Weeks including monitoring and approving expenditures.
- May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Project Management experience in both leading small projects and supporting larger initiatives.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with LEAN / Process Improvement methods.
- Certification in Project Management or Human Resources.
- Experience with human resources programs and processes.
- Experience successfully managing program/project plans to deliver on time and within budget.
- Experience managing programs with multiple program sponsors.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
