Germanna Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. As a comprehensive community college, Germanna provides quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities for the residents of the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford.Germanna is searching for a Human Resources Specialist to be responsible for administering HR onboarding, offboarding, service awards and administering the Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC) in the completion of all state and college mandatory training. The successful candidate will ensure that these processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner to provide employees the necessary support from HR.General Duties and Responsibilities:Administers the onboarding process. Sets up new hires into the system. Works with the HR Recruitment Coordinator to transition from applicant to hew hire. Supports the Sr. HR Generalist in ensuring benefits and new hire orientation information are distributed to new hires. Ensures new hires experience a smooth transition when onboarding.Administers the offboarding process. Ensures exiting employees are offboarded within the system. Ensures employees experience a smooth transition when offboarding. Facilitates exit interviews for those offboarding. Tracks and reports on reasons for termination.Coordinates service awards for employees. Calculates years of service, creates certificates, coordinates gift distribution, and plans presentation of awards in conjunction with the collegeâ™s Events Committee.Administers the state online learning center COVLC in tracking the learning.
