HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) ADMINISTRATOR , Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) , to support VPF's employees across a wide spectrum of human resources (HR) needs. Will partner with VPR directors and managers to foster an engaging, productive, supportive, and positive workplace for all employees; advise and assist the HR director, VPF directors, and staff on HR matters and act as a liaison with MIT central Human Resources; administer human resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and development, employee relations, compensation, and diversity; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and partner with the director on strategic planning and implementation in VPF; and lead or assist with special projects and other duties as needed.
PREFERRED : B.S./B.A.; four years' HR generalist experience; comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws and current HR principles, practices, and trends and ability to serve as a resource on these matters; experience drafting and delivering performance feedback and information related to escalating performance improvement and disciplinary actions; diplomacy, tact, and discretion with sensitive and confidential matters; excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, collaboration, interpersonal, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must be able to lead and deliver projects within a defined timeframe; manage competing short- and long-term goals and projects; effectively communicate across functions; set and manage changing and conflicting priorities; build consensus; and understand formal and informal organizational structures and relationships. PREFERRED : advanced-level Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Brio Query skills; PHR or SPHR certification; and MIT experience and knowledge of its HR policies, guidelines, and systems. Job #21002-8
