Under the direction of the AVP of Human Resources, the Director of Client Services provides leadership for the employee relations, employee engagement, and talent acquisition/retention functions of human resource management. The Director oversees the strategies and administration of comprehensive HR services including, but not limited to policy, discipline, separation, recruitment, compensation, visa support and related functions in the talent management suite. The Director contributes to the overall success of the university by leading HR team members and projects, representing the strategic HR perspective and insuring the delivery of high-quality HR services to University constituents. This position supports the University Mission by ensuring the University's positive working environment, respect for every employee, fair recruitment practices and application of University policy.
1. Undergraduate degree in a related field and 8+ years of increasingly responsible experience in employee relations management, training or investigations, OR Master's degree in a related field and 4+ years of increasingly responsible experience in employee relations management, training or investigations. 2. Mediation, collaborative negotiations, alternative dispute resolution certification or obtain within one year of hire 3. Proven track record of conducting thorough, impartial investigations involving employee relations and/or harassment/discrimination issues 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skill to relate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and all organization levels 5. Experience in interpreting and enforcing policy with high-level customer service implementation 6. Experience developing and conducting in-house training programs 7. Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professional composure 8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities simultaneously. 9. 3+ years supervisory experience. 10. Able to work non-traditional hours on a periodic, as needed basis.
