The Office of Community Engagement and Support (OCES) is a division within the School of Medicine, Dean's Office, with a vision of positioning OHSU as the partner of choice in clinical affiliations through coordinated provision of talent and expertise. OCES primary goals include standardizing approaches for recruitment, contracts, and onboarding of OHSU Clinical Associates and assisting with the integration of community physicians into the OHSU infrastructure.
The OCES HR Manager is responsible for most HR functions within OCES and acts as a liaison with our HR Business Partner team, central HR and other OHSU departments.
Overseeing the daily operations and general HR functions for the Office of Community Engagement and Support (OCES).
Providing HR leadership to the administrative OCES team and embedded OHSU Clinical Associates at four main affiliate sites (Adventist Health, Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hillsboro Medical Center and Mid-Columbia Medical Center).
Serving as an HR expert for: recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, HR communication updates, compliance, teambuilding, performance management, employee relations, strategic process improvement, record management and various OCES HR projects.
Supervising the HR Associate and managing their day-to-day responsibilities, conducting real-time coaching/feedback and offering career development opportunities.
Developing and maintaining community relationships with individuals and partner organizations and stakeholders.
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or a related field
3 5 years of demonstrated successful progressive HR experience
Knowledge of Federal, State and local labor laws as well as compensation principles, FMLA/OFLA, and collective bargaining
Working knowledge of HR practices: recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee relations and labor relations
Advocacy of and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
Masters Degree in related field
Leadership experience in an academic institution
Knowledge and experience in designing and maintaining physician compensation plans
SHRM-CP or PHR certification
Working knowledge of OHSU personnel and payroll policies and procedures
Skilled in writing concise, logical, and grammatically correct correspondence, reports, and other written materials
Proven ability to effectively manage operational resources (people, supplies, equipment, space) to meet both quality and cost expectations/targets
Demonstrated exemplary tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues and individuals at all levels
Demonstrated skill in counseling techniques with sensitivity sufficient to assist in confidential circumstances, and the resolution of problems and conflicts
Experience that demonstrates the ability to meet stringent deadlines, undertake multiple priorities concurrently and self-prioritize in a dynamic environment
Strong political skills and ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
Proven ability to produce, analyze and improve key metrics in the areas of administrative staff performance
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with faculty and investigators, staff, students, and visitors at all levels within OHSU and in the external community
Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks under conditions of fluctuating workloads, competing requirements, and changing deadlines
Ability to work independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
