HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) REPRESENTATIVE 2 , Institute for Medical Eng. and Science (IMES) , to provide complex, comprehensive HR support to staff, faculty, and students on a variety of functions, including MIT policies/procedures, appointments and renewals, and payroll. Will assist with a variety of HR administrative duties, including responding to general HR inquiries; processing HR transactions (e.g., appointments, terminations, promotions, timesheets, extended sick leave, etc.); handling the visiting student appointment process; liaising with the International Scholars Office and processing visa paperwork and with HR-Payroll to resolve payroll issues; approving support staff and student payroll; Outside Professional Activities reporting; supporting IMES' Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP); assisting with developing job descriptions and with recruitment-related activities, including utilizing applicant tracking system; assisting with event-related logistics, e.g., catering, room reservations, etc.; tracking temporary employees and interacting with agencies; participating on committees/projects; file maintenance; coordinating events related to staff training and development and confirming that forms and/or trainings are completed; handling vacation reporting, e-mail lists, HR records, and databases; processing FMLA leave requests; providing meeting support; providing personnel information for budgets; supporting the onboarding process for new employees; and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; five years' related HR experience; excellent communication, customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills; self-motivation, initiative and willingness to research answers and resolve problems proactively; ability to work independently and as part of a team; meticulous attention to detail; good judgment with confidential information/issues; flexibility; ability to interact effectively with people from different backgrounds; and proficiency with MS Office and SAP.
