The Human Resource Generalist will work for the Director of Human Resources and the Corporate Operations Manager to support the People function of a thriving and multi-faceted Real Estate Investment firm headquartered in San Francisco. This role and department support both the Opportunistic and Platform Business and the Core and Value Advisors Business. This is a terrific opportunity for an individual contributor who is attentive and passionate about people and making a positive contribution to a small but mighty team. This role requires 3-5 years of specific HR experience and an individual who wants to specialize in Recruiting and Compliance with a generalist mindset and the ability to assist in running the daily functions of the Human Resource department! Much room for growth, mentorship, and development with this role. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews, tracks and documents compliance reporting with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across all manner of benefits, leaves, compliance training etc. within the employee lifecycle;
Manages the recruiting process for Analysts and Associates as well as annual internships and maintains the job description database;
Conducts necessary functions within the hiring process including employee references, background checks and regret communications;
Performs regular tasks to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefit questions, leaves of absence and employee verifications;
Knowledgeable with and can assist with Payroll and Expense functions on an as needed basis;
Performs new hire orientations as well as offboarding functions such as managing the third-party administrator for COBRA;
Assists with ad hoc reporting requests specifically from Marketing and Accounting;
Provides event planning assistance for employee morale;
Provides back-up support should the need arise.
Skills and Competencies:
All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field;
An ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of professional experience in the Human Resource space;
Computer proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn new systems;
Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Analytical ability to evaluate data and information
Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently;
Strong sense of personal motivation and reliable to step in and assist the HR team wherever needed;
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to act with full integrity, professionalism and the utmost confidentiality;
Upbeat, warm, and engaging personality.
