STATUS: CONTRACT (12 MONTHS)
Abbott Point of Care is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team on a 12-month contract. The HR Generalist will provide support to managers, supervisors and employees, ensuring seamless HR service delivery and fostering positive employee engagement. In a Generalist capacity, you will support and lead programs, projects and strategic initiatives related to a wide variety of areas including talent development, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, change management and culture and employee engagement.
Act as contact for leaders on HR matters and support a variety of Human Resources areas including culture and employee engagement, new employee orientation and integration, compensation and benefits administration, and learning and development.
Develop knowledge of our business and build strong relationships with leaders in order to better understand business needs and provide support aligned with our business strategy;
Monitor, analyze and report on HR metrics reflecting efficiency and propose remedial actions to close gaps;
Co-facilitates new hire orientation to ensure successful onboarding of all new hires. Follows up to ensure a successful onboarding of new hires.
Provide support for job evaluations and creation of new positions, job description updates and job re-leveling.
Supports short-term and long-term disability processes as applicable, liaising with benefits carriers when required.
Support the mid-year and year-end Performance Excellence model ensuring that all component are executed (performance appraisals, goals planning, development planning, etc.)
Act as liaison with contingent labor suppliers to ensure positive contractor relations, monitor contractor turnover and identify issues, manage the annual salary budgeting process, elevate concerns with service levels, etc.
Participate in HR projects and other initiatives (e.g. Kronos implementation, hourly workforce salary structure upgrade, salary benchmarking, etc.)
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with a major in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology or other related discipline. HR Designation is an asset.
2-3 years of general HR experience in a Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Strong business and HR acumen and demonstrated problem-solving skills, critical thinking and initiative.
Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results.
Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
Solid knowledge of Ontario Employment standards, Human Rights legislation, etc.
Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
Proficiency with MS-Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc. Knowledge of Workday is an asset.
